I do a considerable amount of ad hoc instruction, which, in a small, fast-paced high school library is ongoing and spontaneous. I also have experience in formal group instruction.
Computer Literacy Instruction (Winter/Spring 2011)
Hall Memorial Library, Ellington (where I work part-time) contracted with me to develop and teach a series of beginner computer literacy sessions. The library successfully obtained a grant from the Hartford Foundation “to advance 21st Century computer and Internet technologies.” With this grant, the library was able to renovate an existing space to outfit a computer lab and to provide instruction to patrons.

IT Training Module (LS 560 Spring 2009)
Horizon Wimba AppShare – Adobe Captivate
Using Adobe Captivate, e-learning authoring software, this was a team project to create an Information Technology-related training module. Our team chose to create a training unit on AppSharing, a feature available in the Horizon Wimba online classroom that enables eLearning participants to share their screen content with others in real time.
